Editorial Projects
The 100 Very Best Restaurants in Washington, DC (Washingtonian, January 2024): Visited, vetted, and reviewed 20 DC restaurants to determine the very best the city has to offer.
The Crunchies (Food52, May 2022): A celebration of the best new(ish) snacks from small businesses that more people should know about. I shepherded this project from research phase to launch.
Downtime Dilemma & Downtime Diary launch (Girls’ Night In, September 2021): Piloted and launched two regular newsletter series for Girls’ Night In.
Quarantine Cookies (Kitchn, December 2020): A recipe package featuring 16 excellent bakers, on their cookie of the year.
Thanksgiving Food Fest (Kitchn, November 2020): A two-day virtual food festival featuring some of the biggest voices in the food. I booked all the participants and coordinated their segments.
Red Sauce America (BonApp, April 2019): Whether or not you’re Italian, red sauce likely means something to you—about family, or home, or history, or politics, or class, or citizenship, or selfhood, or otherness, or all the above, or a million other things. And that’s what this package is all about.
America's Favorite Neighborhood Restaurants (BonApp, June 2018): The most ambitious digital editorial project done at Bon Appétit to date, featuring 80+ pieces of content from sought-after writers, actors, and thought leaders.
Bonappetit.com re-launch (October 2017): This was a complete overhaul: a full site migration to a different CMS, an updated site hierarchy, and completely new and sleeker design.
Basically launch (July 2017): Created a new space for beginner cooks, anchored on a new digital recipe format that displays quick 3-second clips for each recipe step.
Healthyish launch (January 2017): Healthyish was Bon Appétit's first sub-brand. We wanted to create a site dedicated to healthy eating that was rooted in deliciousness—a gap we saw as severely lacking in the digital wellness space. Since launch, Healthyish has branched out into other lifestyle topics and remains grounded in the notion that wellness is for everyone.
Bon Appétit Foodcast (November 2014 - February 2020): With some cheap, transportable equipment we dragged to a conference room, a small team of us launched what is now the #1 food podcast. While the equipment has been since upgraded, the Bon Appétit Foodcast remains an ongoing passion project that has become core to the brand.
